In\u00a0FY 2023-24<\/strong>, the city welcomed\u00a05.28 crore<\/strong>\u00a0tourists, a number projected to rise significantly in the coming years, especially following the development of\u00a0Mahakal Lok<\/em><\/strong>, which has further boosted religious tourism.<\/p>\n

The absence of an operational airport has long been a challenge for Ujjain\u2019s growth as a major pilgrimage and tourism hub.
